At the heart of the Watch Valley we have made the Jura, and Le Noirmont, our home. Still today the foremost master watchmakers are established here in the Jura, in a region whose name is admired and respected throughout the world. To come here is to experience an immersion in time and to understand the restraint and refinement of our watches.
Beneath the dial
Revisited, personalised, even exclusive, the movement is the crux of each of our creations. More than a machine, it is the soul of our watches. Naturally then, and with a particular fondness for regulators, our watchmakers return again and again to horological complications, finding new ways to express each one. Regulators, moon phases and other sophisticated chronographs benefit from our virtuoso’s care and attention, and from in-house modules which we develop in Le Noirmont.

Louis Erard Blue: L'HEURE BLEUE
The LOUIS ERARD blue has been inspired by the magical blue hour. It refers to the time after the sun goes below the horizon and the sky goes into deep blue for a while. It is also an elegant nod to the traditional blue screws and hands of Swiss watchmaking.

Foundation of Louis Erard’s watchmaking school and his casing company, in La Chaux‑de‑Fonds (Neuchâtel, Switzerland). (Company name: Louis Erard & André Perret)
1931
Production of the first watches under the Louis Erard brand
1937
The company employs over 60 people
1956
Louis Erard obtains authorisation to manufacture movements, a privilege exclusively reserved for the crème de la crème of Swiss watchmaking
1980s
The company adds key functions to the famous Peseux 7001 movement, launched in 1971. In particular, a power-reserve indicator and a regulator. This updated movement remains exclusive to the brand
1992
The company changes hands and relocates to Le Noirmont (Jura, Switzerland)
2003
After a decade of silence, the brand is purchased by private investors; it is ready for relaunch
2007
The 50,000th watch produced by the brand since its relaunch in 2003 leaves the Louis Erard workshops. In autumn, the brand launches its first exclusive women's collection, Emotion
2011
Louis Erard celebrates 80 years of mechanical watchmaking. A collection created to celebrate the anniversary, Excellence reflects more clearly than ever the brand’s identity with its exclusive complications, including the regulator with its power-reserve indicator
2014
A significant year for the brand as it reached the milestone of 200,000 watches produced in Le Noirmont

Assembly requires our most meticulous care and expertise. The movement is cased up, the dial and hands are fixed, the various functions are regulated and finally the strap is fitted.
